Amplify your work with the rule of three.
Rachel Cosgrove, one of our favorite gym owners, coaches, and fitness professionals work by what she calls, the rule of three.
Utilize everything you create, in at least three ways.
Here’s one of our favorite examples –
A 30-min Staff training.
- Record the training session for later review and training.
- Take pictures of the team in action for social media.
- Dedicate one team member to take notes and add them to your operations manual.
1 – You don’t even have to edit it! Start building your digital library for new hires, use this material as “game tape” your staff can watch to improve on what they see, and share it with a local business you’re partnering up with to support their team.
2 – Obvious right? Not only do people love to see ‘behind the scenes,” but they also love to know that you and your team are constantly learning and always improving. Share some of your company culture and write about how important it is to take care of people, the moment you answer the phone.
3 – Don’t have an operations manual? Consider this the first step! This is a great project to delegate. It gives your teammate a sense of responsibility and impact and also sets your company up for faster onboarding with new hires.
Yeah…even our 3 “maximizers” have maximizers.
The key here is to approach each task and project looking for opportunities to repurpose and reuse all that time and effort.
Make this a habit and you’ll be surprised at how many “on hold” projects actually get done!
